J. R. Lindermuth is the author of 14 novels, including six in his popular Sticks Hetrick crime series and two in the new Sheriff Sylvester Tilghman series, and a non-fiction regional history book. A retired newspaper editor, he is currently librarian of his county historical society where he assists patrons with genealogy and research. He is a member of International Thriller Writers and currently serves as vice president of the Shorty Mystery Fiction Society, the organization which annually awards the Derringer prize in various categories of published stories. A native Pennsylvanian, he is the father of two children and has four grandsons.
