My first book came about by accident. The twin brothers I'd written about in a newspaper feature (David and Dennis Pischke) were invited as guests on a radio talk show. Near the end of the show, the host Peter Warren, said to the twins, "I understand there is a book in the works."
David replied that there was.
Peter asked if I was writing the book and David said yes, then added: "But we haven't asked her yet."
Peter laughed, "Well you've asked her now!"
We started the next day. I will be forever indebted to the Twins and Peter Warren for helping me launch my career as an author, a dream I'd had since a child.
