I was born in Fort Worth Texas, the youngest to four sisters. I’ve worked as a laborer, an entrepreneur, website developer, and a management information system expert with the Arizona Affiliated Tribes. I spent a year volunteering at a big cat park in Arizona, and am an avid backpacker, photographer, guitar player, and recently, a gardener.
I have a doctorate in biological anthropology from the University at Albany, SUNY with an emphasis on human brain evolution. I completed two post-doctoral fellowships: one with the Cognitive Evolution Group at the University of Louisiana at Lafayette; and one with the Yerkes National Primate Research Center at Emory University. Currently I am Department Chair for Cultural & Behavioral Science at Georgia State University in Atlanta, GA, where I live with his wife, five kids, two dogs (one big, one small), and three cats in a small house.
