About the author

Oh, I do love to read! Is there anything better than settling down with a wonderful book that sweeps you away to a world every bit as real as the one you wake up to every day? No, I don’t think there is. Although my taste in books has “matured” over the years, I’m not sure that’s such a good thing, really. I remember the magic spells those early books cast—the ones by Anya Seton; Forever Amber, and Angelique, and Gone with the Wind; the romances with the Victorian governesses living in moody mansions with brooding masters. One book I have never outgrown (and never will—I’ve read it at least two dozen times) is I Capture the Castle by Dodie Smith. What a treasure. I respect the yummy power of the romance genre, its ability to speak to, and satisfy, those very specific longings we all have. We sigh with completion when all those pieces fall into place, don’t we? I laid the pieces out and put them together in my own romance novel—it was a joy to write, and I hope it leaves you with a contented sigh when you put it down. I’m a former English teacher and newspaper reporter, and I completed the Proofread Anywhere course. My next romance novel has germinated and is perking away. I’ll let you know… http://www.kerryrye.com
