Raised on an early diet of Nancy Drew novels, Cheyna Roth has always had a deep fascination with crime and a good mystery. A prosecuting attorney at the age of twenty-four, Cheyna started out wanting to put the dregs of society in jail. But she soon learned that the criminal justice system is far from black-and-white. Cheyna became a journalist in 2016. She started her career as a political reporter for the Michigan Public Radio Network and has been a guest on popular shows such as 1A, Here and Now, and All Things Considered. She is now an investigative journalist for the Grand Rapids Press. Her work has been fea- tured in Broadly, Bustle, and on NPR. Cheyna is also an adjunct professor of journalism and law at Aquinas College in Grand Rapids, Michigan.
