John Spicuzza

John Spicuzza, aka “Scooz” by friends and co-workers, was a firefighter/paramedic for forty-two years before retiring in the majestic foothills for North Carolina. He achieved an AS degree in fire science, a BS in business management, Executive Fire Officer (EFO) designation, and Chief Fire Officer (CFO) designation. He was involved in numerous aspects of the job as an emergency room paramedic, EMT/paramedic instructor, fire academy instructor, fire and EMS training officer, hazardous material technician and instructor, terrorism instructor, and member of a state urban search and rescue (USAR) team. On his days off he enjoyed woodworking and obtained his contractor’s license along with being a baseball coach, high-school wrestling official and coach. He is proud of his two sons following in his footsteps with one being a firefighter and the other an EMT. John resides in North Carolina and can be reached at john@scooz.net.
