I have published eight non-fiction books over my working lifetime that have ranged from an award-winning biography and a study of autobiography to a cultural and political reaction to the effect the War on Terror had on American society after 9/11. Recently I have published a debut suspense novel, Money Matters, that was a Finalist in the 2019 American Fiction Awards. In 2021 I am publishing a second novel, Dangerous Conjectures, set in the Bay Area in the opening months of 2020 when the coronavirus and conspiracy theories were spreading unchecked. Its two major characters are a Berkeley computer scientist and his wife whose terror at the virus is not alleviated by her husband's rational reassurances, leading to a series of crises in their lives.
