Born in Independence, Missouri, on Halloween -- at the height of the Great Depression -- I experienced firsthand the poverty and heartbreak of that era. One of the few remaining survivors of the 'Greatest Generation,' I lived in the 'Show Me' state most of my life, but currently live near Green Bay, Wisconsin, where I still speak fluent hillbilly with a southern drawl and root for the Green Bay Packers football team.
My interests -- apart from writing -- include astronomy, geography, history, politics, yoga, philosophy, psychology, metaphysics, and parapsychology. I'm a self-educated jack-of-all-trades, a Mensa *almost*, and a classical music and jazz-fusion aficionado. My first book for children, The Haunted Igloo, was published in 1991 by Houghton Mifflin. Since then, I've happily self-published other titles in both trade paperback and electronic versions. I find it liberating to be my own publisher now.
My philosophy of life is: What the mind of man can see and believe can be achieved. (Napoleon Hill, Author)
