I hope readers will enjoy my murder mystery, which is especially for people who love dogs and cats. My objective is to tell a good story and also spread the word that we can save more animals from being killed at animal shelters. By the time I burned out with animal rescue I had adopted five dogs - three beagles and two pit bulls - and I had trapped, neutered, and vaccinated a community cat colony. I have the greatest respect for the people who persevere with animal rescue. I think they are unsung heroes and their stories deserve to be told. I’ve tried to capture some of what I’ve learned from other rescuers and from my own experiences. Some people find my book to be shocking but animal rescuers tell me in reviews that they love the book, which makes me very happy.
